Legendary crossover country crooner Razzy Bailey, once again, blurs musical boundaries with his blues, country
and rock fused project Damned Good Time.
“When I went in to record this project, I wanted to reconnect with the ‘70s era country. The Waylon, Mickey Gilley,
Charlie Daniels and Marty Robbins sound,” says Razzy Bailey.
With the many hardships that have been thrown at this Alabama born artist, it is no stretch to see how his voice and
songwriting resonate in this vulnerable and soul bearing sound. His first single is the bluesy traditional country Hank
Wrote That, one of the eight tracks that Razzy Bailey co-wrote on the project. Other highlights on the album include
Long Black Veil, an unforgettable duet with the highly celebrated Johnny Cash and Blue Monday, an irresistible
track featuring the great Mickey Gilley. The crowning mark on Damned Good Time is Heart of Stone, an emotive
ballad adorned with vocal stylings from the beautiful and talented Jennifer Brantley.
Like many veteran artists, his talent in the songwriting arena equals the recognition he’s received as a performer
that shattered country music’s borders and stereotypes. Razzy Bailey's songs have been recorded by Willie Nelson,
Johnny Cash, Mickey Gilley, Charlie Daniels, Lee Greenwood, Steve Cropper, Dickey Lee and Ricochet. “Razzy is
impossible to define,” says Country Music Columnist Ken Carille. “Yes, he is country, but he is also a good bit of
rock, and has more than his share of blues.”
With a recording career that has produced thirteen #1 singles and 32 Top 10 singles, this Atlanta Music Hall of
Famer proves that great songs can penetrate cultures around the globe. In Thailand, performing artist Bird
Thongchai had a hit with Razzy Bailey's 9,999,999 Tears in 2008.
This Spring, Damned Good Time is set to bring a renaissance to a career featuring hits like Loving Up a Storm (#1),
Anywhere There’s a Jukebox (#1), Friends (#1), I Keep Coming Back (#1), Midnight Hauler (#1), True Life Country
Music (#1) and She Left Love All Over Me (#1). This album is currently available at Ernest Tubb Record Stores,
Amazon, CDBaby and Razzybailey.com.
Straight to the point, Razzy Bailey is a true legend in music and a Damned Good Time for all who attend his shows!
